IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR WAKATERE BOATING CLUB MEMBERS

As the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to evolve, we want ensure you that the Wakatere Committee is continuing to monitor the situation and taking advice on appropriate steps to ensure the safety of our members.

We should remember that sailing is a non-contact sport, played outdoors and the risk of becoming infected while sailing is therefore minimal.

For the moment all club activities will go ahead as planned, with larger gatherings at regattas under review.

However, we'd like to offer the following advice and changes to normal operations:

All club briefings to be held outdoors with larger than the normal separation between sailors
A maximum of three people to the changing room and sailors should consider taking a shower at home
Please follow all available hygiene recommendations especially around hand washing
Please do not come to the club if you are feeling unwell for any reason

I think we can all agree that some sailing will be a welcome break from the difficult news around at the moment.
