The Wakatere General Committee warmly invites all club members and their families to join us for our Christmas celebration. Given the busy schedule in December, this year’s event will take place on a THURSDAY. Be sure to mark your calendars!

• 2024 Black Stick Race & Christmas Party  

• 5pm race briefing

• 6pm race start  

The opening highlight will be the Black Stick Race. This longer race begins just off the Club and heads across the harbour to Rangitoto and back. A navigation stick we call the 'Black Stick' is used as a rounding mark, it's just off the shore from Rangitoto. Juniors may have a shorter course.

We've got Salty Santa bringing Christmas treats for our junior members - this year expect a unique twist... it's all happening on the water!  And that's not all - we have a delicious Christmas feast to share, so bring your appetite and let's make this one to remember. Christmas ham is on the menu compliments of the General Committee. We ask that Club members bring a plate of food to add to our sharing table - a salad, pasta, rice or vegetable dish to accompany the ham, chicken, and roast potatoes provided.  

Calling all kitchen superheroes! We will need a few carving and serving champions on the day.
