The Sunburst National Championship is returning to Wakatere 16-18 Jan 2026 - and it’s set to offer the best of Sunburst sailing for everyone!

With three fleets on the water, catering to every level of ability, there’s truly something for everyone:

• Jack Brooke Fleet – championship spinnaker racing at its finest
• Taihoa Fleet – non-spinnaker racing, competitive and thrilling
• Cruising Fleet – informal, non-racing fun for newcomers and young families

The excitement begins with the Invitation Race on Friday 16 January, followed by two full days of national championship racing on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th. It’s the perfect time of year to be on the water in Auckland - don’t miss it!

Introducing the new Cruising Fleet
Designed for those new to the class or sailing with young crew, the cruising fleet is all about relaxed, fun adventures. Each day, the group will choose a destination based on wind and tide. No results, no pressure - just Sunnie sailing for the joy of it!
