As we celebrate 100 years of Wakatere in 2026, we’re more energised than ever to welcome new sailors to a club built on friendship, life skills, resilience, competition, and adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned racer or just starting out, you’ll find your place at Wakatere. Opening Day is Sunday 20 September  it’ll be here before you know it.

Every season, newcomers join our nationally and internationally recognised sailors - learning, improving, and sharing the same stretch of sea. With strong class leadership, opportunities to upskill and support club racing, and Learn to Sail programmes for all ages, in a sport that brings people together from all walks of life - there’s never been a better time to join. 

What’s On at Wakatere

• Club Racing most Sundays (Sep–May)

• Regattas & special events all season long

• Junior & youth coaching runs throughout the week

• Learn to Sail - junior, youth & adult courses. Dates tbc 

• Casual sailing on Thursdays (daylight savings)

• Friday Foiling - new for 2026/27
