Sailing Sign On Sign Off

  • All sailors must sign on/sign off for racing by scanning the sign-on/sign-off QR code posters at Wakatere

  • Any phone can enter any sailor

  • The sign-on and sign-off QR codes are located inside the club rooms by the kitchen

Boat Storage

  • Overnight boat storage for regatta entrants is available on Saturday, 28th Feb 2026

  • All vehicles and all road trailers must use Woodall Car Park - it's a free public carpark. The grassed area inside the club compound is to remain clear for sailors and rigging.

  • No visiting boats may remain at the conclusion of the regatta. Refer to WBC boat storage

About the Starting Tower

Wakatere’s iconic Memorial Starting Tower is a slice of 1960s history, and a proud memorial to the members who served in WWII. Their names are etched on its plaque: Warren Bond, John Hunt, Ross Buckley, Peter Martin, Ian Gray, Jack Pybus, Harvey Grut, Norman Stephenson, Lindsay Hay, and Ted Stephenson.

We may run racing from a committee boat these days, but the tower hasn’t lost its magic.

For Heritage Day Race 2026, the flags will fly again, the tower will come alive, and the whole scene will be an unbeatable moment in time for sailors and supporters alike.

WBC Bar

  • Club Bar Hours: daily from 3 PM, eftpos available, credit card not available

  • Important: Visitors to the bar must introduce themselves to be 'signed in' as our guests. This is a requirement of our license to operate.

Don't be offended if someone asks you where you're from. Thanks
