Car Parking at Wakatere
CAR PARK
We are fortunate at Wakatere to have a free public car park directly across the road from the Club. This is called Woodall Car Park and is accessed at either end on Wairoa Rd or Seabreeze Ave. Please use the central pedestrian crossing by the cafe.
PUBLIC RESERVE
As Wakatere Boating Club is situated within the grounds of a public reserve - Narrow Neck Beach Reserve, and the club area is used by children and adults for coaching, rigging and boat maintenance, these rules must be adhered to -
- NO CAR OR ROAD TRAILER PARKING IS PERMITTED within the club compound during sailing events or during venue hire events.
- NO CAR PARKING IS PERMITTED on the grass at any time.
WALK, CYCLE or BUS
We encourage low energy transportation to Wakatere. If your boat is already at the club and you live locally, the best & most enjoyable way to get to Narrow Neck is to walk, cycle or bus. Wakatere is conveniently located on a cycle way and opposite a bus stop.
NOTE
If you are fortunate to find a free angled parking spot immediately outside the gates to the club compound, allow enough room for the club tractor to manoeuvre between the club gate and the public launching ramp. Be aware that parking wardens patrol this area all year.
And finally, leave the disabled parking space by the old road gate for the disabled.
