2019 Wakatere Waszp Mid-Winter Champs
2 day regatta for the Waszp class. Invitation now extended to the A-Division Catamaran, International Moth and Windfoilers. Open to skippers who are members of a yacht club affiliated to Yachting New Zealand.
Racing abandoned on Day 2 due to a lack of wind. Day 1 results are final.
Briefing for all fleets 11:30am Sat 6th July
Day 1: Saturday - first warning signal 1pm
Day 2: Sunday - first warning signal 12pm
The Sailors for the Seas Clean Regattas programme is designed to assist events and local communities to adopt standards and practices that will mitigate the effects of unsightly and environmentally unsafe refuse. The programme defines 25 best practices with guidelines on how to run water based events in a sustainable way.
Competitors are reminded of RRS 55 covering Disposal of Trash. This is incorporated into the current World Sailing Racing Rules.
55 TRASH DISPOSAL: A competitor shall not intentionally put trash in the water. This rule applies at all times while afloat.
SUPPORT BOATS & STORAGE
All visiting patrol boats must sign in at registration and must be prepared to act as safety boats if required.
Boat storage is available at Wakatere for Saturday night. No boats may remain in the club compound at the conclusion of the regatta.
The grassed area inside the club compound is to remain clear for regatta boats. All vehicles and all road trailers must use Woodall Car Park.
