Pathways in Sailing
If you are a parent new to sailing (or even new to parenting a sailor) this evening is for you! Sailing as a sport offers many different opportunities for your sailor depending on their interests, size and sailing development at each age/stage. It can be very confusing to know which boat they should be sailing and why and what is the implication of each choice both time wise and financially! Juliette (our coaching coordinator) and a panel of experts are hoping to unravel the sailing progression pathways and answer some of your questions to help guide you to make the best decisions for your sailor.
We encourage parents of all our sailors who have any questions in this area to attend whatever class of boat they are currently sailing. Discussion will focus around Junior (Optimist, Open BIC, P Class) and Youth classes (Starling, Feva, 29er, 420, Laser Radial).
Information about each class of boat sailed at Wakatere, the coaching programme at Wakatere and National/International opportunities will be discussed.
We will combine the BIC and Feva information evenings within this presentation too.
