Patrol Boat Skippers
Published 04:05 on 11 Sep 2019
The Club is running a Patrol Boat Safety Instruction course before Christmas 2019. The course is for club members (and parents of junior club members) who wish to learn how to drive/control a small RIB, and carry out rescues safely etc. Completion of the course qualifies you to skipper a RIB at Wakatere, and we need all the qualified skippers we can get especially to help run our Sunday racing and coaching programmes safely.
The course will be run at the club by a qualified instructor, Phil Bishop, Auckland Sailing School. The course will include both theory and practical instruction over one Saturday 8:30am - 4pm. No previous experience required.
The course is FREE to Wakatere club members but an official CBES Club Safety Boat Operator Certification will cost each member $30 (organise with course instructor on the day).
If you are interested, please email Safety Officer Greg Lee at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that you should email promptly as we need to allow sufficient time to pin down a specific date for the course and finalise numbers.
