Notice of Race

Rules

1.1

The regatta will be governed by the ÔrulesÕ as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-12.

1.2

The YNZ Safety Regulations Part 1 shall apply.

2.0

Eligibility and Entry

2.1

The regatta is open to all registered and measured Sunburst class boats, the skipper and crew of which must be financial members of the New Zealand Sunburst  Association and members of a yacht club affiliated to Yachting New Zealand.

Boat and Sail Measurement will take place at WBC, Friday Jan 27rd 18.00 to 20.00, and Saturday Jan 28th 08.30am to 10.30.am.

Entries will be accepted until 10:30am on Saturday 28th January 2012, by completing the attached entry form accompanied by a fee of $90 and presenting the entry on the day or mailing it to PO Box 32-288, Devonport at least one week prior.

Schedule of Events :

Racing Racing Schedule: The following times are for the warning signal for each start.

Saturday  January 28th

Briefing    12.00 am

Race 1      1.30 pm

Race 2      To Follow

Sunday January 29th

Race 3    10.00 am


Race 4    To Follow

Lunch

Race 5    To be run in the afternoon. The time for the first warning signal will be posted on the Noticeboard at least 30mins before the start.

Race 6    To be run late Sunday, or Monday Morning 10.00am start, timing at the Race OfficerÕs discretion.

 

Monday January 30th

Race 7   10.00 am start if Race 6 is run on Sunday 29th.  If Race 6 is a 10.00 am Start on Monday 30th, Race 7 will follow back to back. There will be no race start after 15.00 hrs on Monday January 30th

 

Prize Giving – Will be following completion of last race

Sailing Instructions

 

The Sailing Instructions  will be available at registration.

Racing Area

 

The races will be held off Narrowneck Beach

6.0

Courses to be Sailed

 

The course will be Triangle and/or Windward/Leeward.

 

 

7.0

Scoring

7.1

The Low-Points scoring system will apply.

7.2

5 races will be required to be completed to constitute a series.

7.3

When five or more races have been completed, a boatÕs series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

7.4

All boats will race together and be scored as one fleet.

Alternative Penalties
